Barrier-free outings
A project to make nature accessible to everyone.
We are partnering with the Red Cross of La Garrotxa in an initiative that promotes inclusive access to the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park for people with reduced mobility.
The Joëlette is an all-terrain chair that enables people with reduced mobility to enjoy the great outdoors.
People with health or mobility issues often face barriers when it comes to enjoying life’s simplest pleasures, such as a walk in the countryside or watching a sunset from a mountain peak.
The Joëlette chair ensures that anyone, regardless of their physical condition, can experience these moments.
This single-wheel, all-terrain chair makes it possible to navigate unadapted trails alongside a team of four specially trained volunteers, ensuring the user’s stability, safety, and comfort throughout the entire journey.
Every route is meticulously planned and frequently used for school and family outings. The service is completely free of charge and run by Red Cross volunteers, subject to availability.
Want to experience it for yourself and need to request the Joëlette chair service?

A project driven by collaboration and shared commitment
The Red Cross and its volunteers, the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, and the Alta Garrotxa Consortium work together, with the support of Sant Aniol, to make these outings possible.
This alliance exemplifies a shared vision of building more inclusive, sustainable, and cohesive communities where everyone has the opportunity to connect with nature.
Sant Aniol supports this initiative by providing financial backing and supplying water to participants, ensuring proper hydration thanks to the unique quality and mineral balance of its volcanic-origin water.
